Wool@J13 has teamed up with Riverknits to present a Sock Knitting Workshop for anyone who has always admired sock knitting prowess from afar but never had an actual go for themselves because they’ve never known how.
The workshop will take place on Saturday 30th June at Lower Drayton Farm, Penkridge, Staffordshire, Wool@J13’s showground and will run from 0930 – 1700, offering participants the chance to learn how to acquire the skills necessary to tackle the majority of sock knitting patterns. Toe-up or cuff-down, you’ll be an expert by the end of the day and will come away with a pair of Wee Rowdy Socks as a perfect example of both techniques and equipped with all that is necessary to make a pair for whomever you choose to make.
The workshop will be led by experienced sock knitting tutor, Becci Pamely-Blast from Riverknits, who is usually to be found dyeing her yarns on board a boat but who has agreed to become a landlubber for a day. The cost of the workshop is £70 per person which includes lunch, all materials and refreshments throughout the day.
Those of you who came to Wool@J13 2018 may have met Becci & Markus on the Riverknits stand and heard the duo entertaining the crowds on occasion with accordion & guitar. Clearly, Becci has more than her fair share of the creative streak running through her veins. We are lucky to have her as a tutor. Don’t miss this opportunity!
